Apoena Biocare

Bioprospecting Projects

Floresta Amazônica, Fernando de Noronha & Caatinga

The Apoena Biocare bioprospecting project explores Brazil’s vast biodiversity, focusing on identifying innovative microorganisms for biological pest control and the enhancement of soil and seeds.

Our Blue and Green Amazon Expeditions, and our White Forrest Expedition, led by a specialized biotechnology team, explore unique biomes rich in potential for disruptive biological solutions.

With its unparalleled ecological diversity, Brazil provides us with an inexhaustible source of innovation, transformed into sustainable biological products that meet the global agribusiness demands.

Through our scientific expertise and technical capabilities, we help international companies access exclusive solutions to maximize efficiency and sustainability in the field.

The authorization for biological material collection in Fernando de Noronha was granted via SISBIO (Biodiversity
Authorization and Information System) and approved by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation
(ICMBio).

Sustainable bioprospecting is one of the most responsible ways to discover new microorganisms in nature.

This field of biotechnology stands out through the creation of microbial banks linked to biodiversity, utilizing highly renewable and exclusive source compounds.

Biotech products hold real potential to drive the New Economy — especially from Brazil, the world’s most biodiverse country, home to more than 20% of the planet’s species.
